I have always loved being creative and it showed in my early days of life when I would spend hours creating my own comic books with friends or create my own characters to dress up as on Halloween. Throughout my school years I found that my outlets for creativity became less and less. So when it came time to decide what I direction I would head in for my career I knew I wanted to do something creative but I didn't know how to do that until I heard of world of 3D, specifically for games. I went to a small presentation put on by the Art Institute of Burnaby and although I disliked the idea of spending so much time in front of a computer I fell in love with the idea of how creative you could be. I decided the sacrifice of sitting in front of the computer was worth the creative freedom.
I studied at the Art Institute for six months and quickly realized that I would learn more efficiently studying on my own. By efficient I mean I could learn without all of the expenses! There are so many resources out there for us artists if we are motivated enough to use them. I found so many people that were willing to help out along the way as well. I ended up buying the whole Gnomon collection as well as enrolling in a few small online courses. CGTalk was a big help for my education as well!
